Western Arizona Vocational Education District/Joint Technical Education District

Kingman Unified School District is a partner in WAVE/JTED, which supports career and college preparation through Career and Technical Education (CTE). Being a partner allows the district to have additional funding from local and state taxes. Unlike many other states that have developed a system of both community colleges and post-high school technical training institutions that offer associate degrees and industry certificates, Arizona has taken a different approach by making these options available to students before they graduate from high school. Courses include agricultural business management – agriscience, allied health services – sports medicine, automotive, business management and administrative services, construction technologies – woodworking, culinary arts, drafting and design technologies, early childhood education, graphic communications, information technologies, nursing services, performing arts and entertainment industry – technical theater and welding technologies.

Arizona Virtual Academy/Insight Academy of Arizona

Kingman Learning Center has brought together the best of two worlds. Long gone is the standardized education that brick and mortar schools offer. It is replaced by a new personalized education through the K¹² curriculum. This site is a place where families have more involvement in the way their children learn and grow together. Hands-on instruction, small groups and one-on-one support, combined with the virtual world of K¹², create an exceptional educational environment. Students also learn to be responsible to themselves, their classmates and their community. Service learning projects, community services, clubs and group projects are just a few of their endeavors.
